One brave and valiant travel writing instructor ventured to take six students (myself included) to central Mexico for ten days in January 2013. With varying degrees of Spanish knowledge, we attempted to accomplish our one assignment: to find our own story as we explored the unfamiliar cities of San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato. After visiting art galleries and museums, as well as a botanical garden and a silver mine, each of our tales began to unfold. Interactions with the local people and friendships with local college students helped us to discover more about ourselves and the world in which we live.
Under the "Travel Stories and Artwork" tab, each of our stories, both written and painted, can be found. Some humorous, some more serious, each story reflects just part of our 10 day journey. Additionally, photos from the trip can be found under the "Pictures" tab.

Thank yous are due to a number of people-- to Dr. Carl Isaacson for recording all of our stories, to Swede Government Association for helping to sponsor the trip, to Stephanie McDowell for her work with media and publication, to the staff, faculty, and students who came to out to watch us read our stories, and lastly, to Dr. Van Tassel. Without her, this trip would not have been possible.
